Producten - High Gloss Under the name High Gloss, Zijlstra presents a number of contemporary programmes in high gloss. Zijlstra High Gloss furniture is available in the colours white, grey, red and black, whether or not combined with stainless steel. Zijlstra - truly high gloss High gloss lacquered products must have a true high gloss finish. There is a substantial difference between glossy furniture and the High Gloss furniture of Zijlstra. A high gloss finish is only obtained through the use of MDF in combination with PU (polyurethane) lacquer. The degree of high gloss is determined by the craftsmanship and lacquer spraying technique. The product is sprayed and then sanded. This process is repeated several times. The more this is repeated, the better the high gloss effect. At each subsequent stage, an increasingly finer abrasive material is used. The spraying is carried out by a spray robot, which normally applies five coatings of lacquer. An automated spray robot creates a more uniform coverage of products. Zijlstra uses the same type of robots that are used in the automotive industry for spraying cars. At a relatively low cost, a very high quality high gloss is obtained. This high gloss quality is incomparable to other products on the market. Alternatives generally offered consist of sheet material in combination with PE (polyethylene) lacquer. It is glossy but it is not the same as high gloss lacquered furniture. Lacquering with robots is only possible with a very large production series. With some of the series that we produce in smaller quantities, lacquering takes place manually because it is not technically feasible pricewise to lacquer-spray such small quantities with a spray robot. Very scratch-resistant UV lacquer
Finally, Zijlstra applies a coating of UV (ultraviolet) lacquer to protect the furniture. This UV-coating is extremely scratch-resistant and helps to prevent discolouration, for instance under the influence of sunlight. |
