Stainless steel designed for indoor use requires very little maintenance. Stainless steel requires only to be cleaned in terms of hygiene or appearance.

Cleaning of stainless steel

• Stain spots and finger marks can be an issue on stainless steel. These marks can be removed with a few drops of salad or olive oil on a cotton cloth or with a cleaning agent specially intended for stainless steel.
• Sand or dust particles on the surface should first be removed with water in order to avoid scratches. After removal of these particles, the stainless steel should be wiped dry with a clean cloth. A stainless steel cleaner can subsequently be applied.
• Do not use acidic or salty substances. Vinegar or lemon juice can damage stainless steel.
• Never use bleach or cleaning agents that contain bleach to clean stainless steel furniture.
• Do not use steel wool or abrasive material.  They cause scratches on stainless steel.
• Do not use silver polish.

Stainless steel cleaning agents

There are two types of cleaning agents for stainless steel on the market. There are special cleaning sprays for stainless steel.  They will remove greasy finger marks, for example, however, they will not prevent the existence of new marks. These sprays are mostly based on silicon oil and very easy to use. This oil can also easily be removed with soapy water.

There are also special polishing pastas for stainless steel. These pastas apply an invisible layer to the product. This layer will remain on your product for some months and is resistant to detergents. This layer may be removed with alcohol.
